Leyland Methodist Schools are situated on Canberra Road, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 3ET. The Infant School caters to children aged 5 to 7, while the Junior School serves pupils aged 7 to 11. Both schools are two-form entry institutions, admitting two classes per year group.
The student body comes from a diverse socio-economic background, with the proportion of disadvantaged pupils aligning with the national average. Similarly, the percentage of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is comparable to national figures.
In their most recent inspections, both schools received positive evaluations. The Infant School was rated as 'Outstanding' in its September 2013 Ofsted inspection, with inspectors noting that "pupils make rapid progress because of the outstanding teaching." The Junior School was rated as 'Good' in its November 2021 Ofsted inspection, with inspectors highlighting that "leaders put pupils at the heart of every decision that they make."
The schools also underwent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) evaluations. The Infant School was inspected in January 2019, and the Junior School in June 2017.
Both schools collaborate closely with the Local Authority and other agencies to prioritize safeguarding, particularly in supporting families within the community.
